EDITING RATES
The following rates vary according to the degree of editing required on a document. The average degree of editing required is determined when we first see a sample of your document. The price will be set according to the average degree of editing required. This rate will be determined before we start working on your project, and it will not change.
Proofreading service — this service involves checking for errors in punctuation, spelling, grammar, verb tenses, etc. (and inserting changes to correct these errors).
Price range: 1 cent per word (or about $3 per double-spaced page).
Copy-editing service — in addition to checking for errors in punctuation, spelling, grammar, verb tenses, etc., this service involves the following: changing passive verb forms to active forms; breaking up run-on sentences; suggesting words that may be more suitable; and occasionally rewording sentences.
Price range: 2 to 5 cents per word (or about $4 to $7 per double-spaced page).
Substantive editing service — this includes all of the above, plus the following: significant rewriting of sentences, and, in some cases, of paragraphs. It may also involve restructuring sections of the document and consulting the writers, or other professionals in the area of the work concerned, to ensure that the intended technical meaning of the original is accurately expressed in the rewrites.
Price range: 6-10 cents per word (or about $9 to $14 per double-spaced page).

Because we write several types of document, and because each project is unique, our standard practice is to price each project according to the task at hand. Usually, this is done by estimating the total time it will take to complete a project and then by either charging an hourly writing rate ($75 per hour) or a flat fee.
If we take less time than predicted, then your costs are accordingly lowered. If we take more time than estimated, you don't pay more - the original estimate stands.
Below, we account for the typical charges on several types of project:
Business Plans
5-8 page plan............................................$75-100 per page
9-15 page plan..........................................$100-125 per page
16+ page plan...........................................$125-175 per page
(The longer the business plan, the more complicated it often is. Accordingly, prices generally rise with the number of pages involved.)
Website Writing
$75-100 per page (a reduced rate is provided for pages with fewer than 300 words and an increased rate is applied for pages with over 500 words).
Proposals and Grants
Proposal and grant writing rates are as follows: (a) $30 per hour for all research and writing, plus a small pre-negotiated percentage of any funding awarded (if no funding is awarded, you are charged only $30 per hour and you are free to re-use any material we produced); or (b) $75-$100 per hour, if the proposal is successful (if it isn't successful, you are charged only the above $30 per hour fee).

• detailed, written instructions on how to write an essay for that exam (including what the graders look for, as well as tips for answering the particular essay question in each assignment);
